How To Choose The Best Solo Ads

How To Choose The Best Solo Ads

The best solo ads can scale and launch your business into profit fast.  But not all solo ads are created equal… You need to know what you’re spending your money on and how to maximise your dollar.  Here’s a quick checklist…

It goes without saying that traffic is the lifeblood of any business.  Without it you’re dead in the water.

But it also needs to be said that you have to have the right kind of traffic in front of the right offer. How To Choose The Best Solo Ads

Solo ads are extremely well suited to MMO opportunities (Make Money Online). – this is called a “Message to Market Match” in the industry.

What is a Solo Ad

A solo ad is an advertisement that gets emailed out to a list. It is the ONLY thing emailed, hence “solo ad”.

Solo ad vendors have huge lists of people who are looking for opportunities and you simply purchase “clicks”, give them your swipe email “copy” and they send your email (and only yours) out to the list.

You pay by the “click” which means the email recipient clicks on your link to further see your opportunity.

Crafting a Solo Ad

It’s best to create your email “swipe” using 4 components:

  1. Your target market’s pain
  2. Your bold promise
  3. Your hook to get them to click
  4. Your call to action
  5. Track your results! I use ClickMagick

Make sure your links are both tracked and pointing to your autoresponder as well.

A good vendor will help you test all this and even give you pointers on your capture page.  I use and like Aweber as an autoresponder and you can create capture pages and integrate your autoresponder easily here if you don’t have a tool to do that currently.

This is sent out to your identical target match, the prospect clicks on your lead magnet, gets taken to your offer (or a bridge page video of you) and then your funnel takes over and does the rest for you.

Reasons Why Solo Ads Won’t Work For You

  1. Poor vendor research
  2. Email swipe copy isn’t great
  3. Lousy email follow ups with opt ins
  4. Non-converting funnel

Ideal Results For A Solo Ad Run

  1. 30% – 50% email opt in rate
  2. Two front end sales per 200 clicks

*** If you see testimonials with very high opt in rates and very high sales – RUN AWAY! ***

How To Find The Best Solo Ad Vendor

  1. Search for “solo ad providers” on Facebook and Google
  2. Do they have a Sales Page?
  3. Does their profile picture match their Facebook profile picture?
  4. Do they have good realistic customer testimonials?
  5. Private message them and strike up a conversation.  All going well you will be scaling up with them so you want to form a relationship for the future.

Questions To Ask The Solo Ad Vendor

  1. Do they have an in-house list or are they a broker?
  2. Can they deliver a minimum of Tier 1, 80% traffic?  T1 is the 5 main English speaking countries
  3. How much do they charge per click? Usually between 30 cents – $1.00. Use Paypal to pay.
  4. Always test with a 200 click first.  Then scale up if results are good

The main thing to remember (and track) is that you are not spending more money than you are making and this comes down to the offer you are promoting and the follow up email campaign you have in place.

Ideally you want an offer that ascends the customer up a value ladder within the funnel.  This is called an Ascension Style Funnel.  You also need to be positioned within your opportunity/company to earn at the highest level.

Real Life Case Study Of Mine

I ran a 300 click solo ad that was 80% in Tier 1 countries (UK, USA, NZ, Australia, Canada).

I paid 40c per click $USD so it cost me $120 USD

I received 6 front end sales (not including email follow ups) ranging fro $1-$37

One of those customers (let’s call her Monique) purchased the front end offer for $37.

Then the “one time offer” up-sell sequence kicked in and Monique purchased the Annual offer of $397.

So you can see I am already in profit from this campaign and that doesn’t include all the leads I received into my autoresponder!

But wait – there’s more!

Monique then went on to purchase our highest ticket offer after she spoke to her coach (complimentary with every purchase) and saw the value of a top end mentorship program resulting in a $3000 commission for me.

Being positioned at the highest level is paramount as that is where 80% of your profits will come from.

Solo Ads DO work!!

Do your research, have the right offer to promote and a solid email follow up campaign in place to maximise your return on investment.

Its like I’m all dressed up and no where to go. I think I’ve laid the foundations but I’m frustrated in not getting the right information to get started. Yes, there’s a stack of info out there, probably too much and I’m wading my way thru at the moment. Can’t help feel that as soon as I get someone to fire the starting gun I’ll be up and running. Do you deal with iPro or Michael Cheneys Money Machine? I just want to limit myself to a couple of systems because I think at the end of the day, they are all basically the same. You just have to find the right fit for you.

      Hi Indrek
If you already have an offer to promote then do some research for vendor as above and make sure you have a follow up sequence in place for the leads you collect. Typically I will get 1-2 sales from a 200 click test with my primary opportunity (the one in the PPS. above). I totally agree with promoting different offers as long as they are congruent. That is, core offers and feeder offers ie. core “primary biz” offer together with “Aweber” feeder offer. They go together. Hope this helps – reach out to me on Facebook if you want to discuss further 🙂 Megan

Solo ads is a great way to quickly scale results. Start testing scripts, vendors and landing pages. Shouldn’t take long to find sales if you are looking in the right place.
